Celebrities aren’t simply invited to red-carpet events and movie premieres. Save-the-dates and wedding invitations are also delivered to celebrities’ Hollywood mailboxes. And, like us ordinary wedding attendees, these celebrities must figure out what the hell to wear! It’s always strangely wonderful to see celebs play bridesmaids and groomsmen for a change, rather than stealing the show. Choosing an outfit good enough to wear to see their besties say “I do” appears to come naturally to these style icons. Why shouldn’t we seek celebrity brides for wedding gown inspiration (cough, Kate Middleton’s long lace sleeves)? After all, whether it’s Emily Blunt at George and Amal Clooney’s high-profile nuptials or Kim Kardashian at a luxury club owner’s I-dos, these prominent wedding guests always give some major style inspo. The Duchess of Cambridge even shows that she can appear wedding-ready even when she isn’t heading down the aisle. A-listers aren’t exactly your ordinary wedding guests, unless the average attendee wears couture Stella McCartney gowns, is styled by a Hollywood-approved hair and cosmetics team, and casually attends royal weddings.
Nicky Hilton Rothschild,
Nicky Rothschild, née Hilton, would dress to impress for her sister’s wedding. On November 11, 2021, the maid of honor entered the blush-hued bridal party wearing a lace Alice and Olivia column gown with feminine frills and a satin bow ribbon.
Kim Kardashian,
Kim Kardashian wore black at Paris Hilton’s autumnal wedding, a sartorial trend that appears to have been echoed by other guests, including Emma Roberts and Nicole Richie. Rick Owens’ cut-out gown was coupled with graphic eyeliner and witchy pointed-toe boots that were ideal for the season.
Kendall Jenner,
Kendall Jenner stood out in bond-girl gold among a sea of elegant wedding guests in black at Simon Huck and Phil Riportella’s star-studded nuptials in November 2021. With a plunging neckline and a sky-high slit, the provocative Donna Karan piece showed off plenty of skin.
Lady Kitty Spencer,
Lady Kitty Spencer wore liquid gold to the Huck-Riportella wedding. The sumptuously gilded Dolce & Gabbana gown is ideal for the Autumn soiree.
Kim Kardashian
Kardashian, shockingly, avoided the black-dress convention in favor of a significantly more colorful approach. The beautiful royal blue Balenciaga suit had a dramatic train and fell into pointed-toe sock boots.
Hailey Bieber
Hailey Bieber, née Baldwin, looked stunning at Felisha King Harvey and Bernard Harvey’s wedding in April 2021. The body-skimming LBD from AZ Factory gives us classy minimalist vibes.
Bella and Gigi Hadid
In April 2019, the supermodel sisters served as each other’s dates to Marc Jacobs’ wedding to Char Defrancesco. Bella wore a black pantsuit over a black corset top and lacy Louboutin pumps, while Gigi wore an olive green pantsuit over a sheer L’AGENCE blouse and a Youssef Lahlou wide-brimmed hat.
Kaia Gerber
Kaia Gerber arrived in a larger take to the 2019 weddings, which proved to be a runway for smart suits. The model channeled 80s glamour in a wool wide-leg trouser and jacket ensemble made by Jacobs himself.
Emily Ratajkowski,
Emrata knows how to turn up the heat. In the Saks Potts satin dress with a deep plunging neckline that she wore to the Jacobs-Defrancesco bash, the model-turned-entrepreneur makes a strong argument for yellow.
Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner flaunted her supermodel figure in a strappy, retro-inspired gown for Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber’s September 2019 wedding. The body-hugging velveteen gown cascades in a cool gold tone that is ideal for the rich autumnal look.
Ashley Benson with Cara Delevingne
After keeping their suspected romance relatively hidden for a year, Delevingne and Benson made a low-key combined appearance at Zo Kravitz and Karl Glusman’s wedding in Paris in June 2019. Delevingne wore a dazzling black and gold pantsuit over a black bra top to the rehearsal dinner, while Benson chose a light brown, one-shoulder leather minidress.
Reese Witherspoon
Kravitz’s Big Little Lies co-stars were also there during her Parisian wedding. For the rehearsal dinner, Witherspoon chose the ideal dress for a summer wedding: a patterned Saloni gown that conveys all of the joyous feelings.
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner
In December 2018, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s (many) wedding parties in India necessitated multiple costume changes for both the newlyweds and their guests. Sophie Turner wore a stunning gold and peach-colored lehenga by Sabyasachi, the same designer who created the stunning scarlet lehenga Chopra wore at one of the festivities.
Cara Delevingne’s
Sticklers for royal decorum were outraged when the model and actress arrived at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s October 2018 wedding in a sleek black Armani tux and matching top hat. But it’s all good: Delevingne announced shortly afterward that she’d gained permission from the princess herself to flout the dress code and wear the handsome suit.
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian West
Kimye wore an understated outfit to 2 Chainz’s wedding to Kesha Ward in August 2018, if “understated” means a bright neon green latex Versace dress and mirrored sunglasses for Kim and a pale green Louis Vuitton suit and Yeezy slides over grey socks for Kanye. If Kanye feels socks and sandals are okay for a wedding, they must be.
